What do you do with extra medicine – flush it down the toilet, run it through the garbage disposal, throw it away? When drugs are not disposed of properly, it increases the risk of accidental poisoning and drug abuse, and it can damage our ecosystems and overall health. Learn more about how to dispose of unused medicine from the FDA.
Secure drop box for unused medicines
We’re proud to be leading the way in responsible medicine disposal by providing locked kiosks for community members to return their unused medications, including opioid prescriptions. The drop box at Lakeview Hospital (lower lobby entrance) is available 24/7; a second drop box, at Stillwater Medical Group clinic, can be accessed during regular pharmacy hours.
