New multi-year agreement places the TRIA logo on all game day jerseys beginning this season.

MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Wild along with HealthPartners, TRIA Orthopedics and Regions Hospital are excited to announce a multi-year partnership that includes a team jersey sponsorship. As part of the agreement, the TRIA logo will be embroidered on all game day jerseys for the Wild. The Wild and HealthPartners share a rich 22-year history that dates back to the team’s inception into the NHL.

“We are very excited to announce our jersey patch partnership with TRIA Orthopedics,” said Wild President Matt Majka. “We share a love for the great State of Hockey and are dedicated to breaking down barriers and providing broader access to the sport. HealthPartners has been a tremendous partner of our organization since our first season and we are thrilled with this opportunity to expand our partnership.”

“We know how much the Minnesota Wild means to Saint Paul and to the State of Minnesota, and we’re excited to expand our partnership with the team,” said Andrea Walsh, HealthPartners president and CEO. “We’re looking forward to continuing to provide exceptional care to the players and fans and broadening our collaboration in the community.”

Dr. Joel Boyd, a TRIA orthopedic surgeon, has served as the only team physician in Wild history. He’s joined by a lengthy list of TRIA and HealthPartners physicians and physical therapists who provide care to players. In 2015, the Regions Hospital Emergency Medical Services team began providing care for fans at all Xcel Energy Center, RiverCentre and Roy Wilkins Auditorium events.

“I’ve had the privilege to work with the Wild since day one, and I’ve gotten to care for some incredible athletes,” said Dr. Boyd. “I remember when the Wild drafted Mikko Koivu and he was literally a kid – and I watched him go on to become the captain and become the first player in franchise history to have his number retired. It’s amazing to be there for their careers.”

In 2019, Regions Hospital and TRIA joined the Minnesota Wild in support of its diversity and inclusion program, Hockey is for Everyone, an NHL program that has brought unique hockey experiences to 45,000 boys and girls. TRIA has also joined the Wild in support of the DinoMights, an urban youth hockey league that not only introduces children to the game, but also works with them off the ice through long-term mentoring.

As part of the agreement, HealthPartners will partner with the Minnesota Wild Foundation in recognizing communities with special game nights dedicated to Black History Month and Pride Night, as well as Hockey Fights Cancer.
