Monday, January 14, 2019 - Resolve to make a difference in 2019

Lakeview Hospital is seeking to add to its team of volunteers in 2019.

Members of the community make a difference by serving in many areas of the hospital, from oncology and surgery to the front desk and gift shop.

“Volunteering at Lakeview Hospital is a great way to serve the community by staying active and connecting with others,” said Kim Klisch, volunteer coordinator. “We offer a great variety of volunteer roles and are flexible with scheduling. Many of our volunteers are retirees who like to travel.”

Open House events will be held February 5, 6 and 7 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Attendees will watch a slideshow about volunteering at Lakeview, take a mini tour and hear from a current volunteer. Coffee and breakfast cookies will be served.

Call 651-430-8522 or email LHVolunteers@Lakeview.org to reserve a seat.

Jim Luger, Oncology Department volunteer. Luger says: “My wife and I believe we have been so blessed that we want to pay it back to the community. There are a lot of people that need help.”

Jim Molnar, Wayfinding volunteer. Molnar says: “The job of a volunteer is to try to help the patients. I think I get more out of it than they do. It’s very gratifying."

Carol Gapen, Hospital Elder Life Program volunteer. Gapen says: “It’s a really good experience talking with the patients. They say they really enjoy it, and I do, too.”
